About the game

Is TORECTA free to play?

Yes. There are no in-app purchases at all, and every feature is available for free. The game is supported by advertising.

How is it different from Tetris?

Blocks fall and stack in both, but the clearing condition differs. TORECTA does not clear rows. Blocks clear when they fill a square of 4×4 or larger.

The largest is a board-wide 12×12, and bigger squares score far more. See how to play for the full rules.

Which devices and iOS versions are supported?

TORECTA is an iPhone app, and requires iOS 17.5 or later. There is currently no Android version.

Can I play offline?

The game itself works offline. An internet connection is required to submit scores to the leaderboard and to display ads.

I am not good at puzzle games. Can I still enjoy it?

There is an interactive tutorial. You learn the controls by actually using them, so you can start playing the day you learn the rules.

Ads

Is there a limit on how often I can play?

No. You can play as many times as you like.

A full-screen ad is shown before each run.

Can I remove the ads?

There is currently no paid option to hide ads. Advertising is what allows every feature to be offered with no in-app purchases.

Accounts and data

Do I need to create an account or provide an email address?

No. An anonymous user ID is issued automatically when you open the app, and that is enough to compete on the leaderboard. You only need to choose a nickname for display.

Does my data transfer when I change devices?

Leaderboard scores and your nickname are tied to an anonymous user ID, but that ID lives on the device, so depending on how you migrate it may not carry over and a new ID may be issued.

Your all-time personal best is also stored on the device and does not transfer. Contact support@bigas.life if you need help.

How do I keep my name off the leaderboard?

Turn leaderboard display off in the user settings screen. The game plays exactly the same with it disabled.

About the Grand Prix

When do seasons change?

A season opens on the 1st of its starting month and closes at 23:59 on the 15th of the following month. After a counting period, the next season opens on the 1st of the month after that.

The current season and time remaining are shown on the leaderboard screen. Full details are on the TORECTA Grand Prix page.

My score is not showing on the leaderboard.

Scores are only recorded while a season is active, not during the counting period between seasons.

Also, only your best score of the season is reflected. A run below your season best will not change your rank.

What happens if two players have the same score?

The player who reached it using fewer blocks ranks higher. If that is also equal, whoever recorded the score first ranks higher.

Where can I see the season results?

The top 100 players see a result sequence based on their final rank the next time they open the app after a season closes. Past season results can be reviewed from inside the app.
